Background

Nelson began writing and recording songs in 1986. They had worked on the Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure soundtrack under the name "Powertool." They wrote the song "Two Heads are Better Than One." Nelson continued to write songs, eventually going to Australia to collaborate with Graeham Goble from the Little River Band. A subsequent 3-month stay in the U.K. to write with hitmakers Adrian Gurvitz and Argent's Russ Ballard followed. Nelson went back to California and started recording demos with producer Marc Tanner. These demos can now be heard on, "Before the Rain."
